Rihanna: New York City Stylish
Following a fun filled night at the Drake concert the previous evening, Rihanna was spotted departing her hotel in New York City on Wednesday afternoon (September 29).
The "Only Girl [In the World]" singer looked her usual stylish self as she was joined by security and hotel staff members while loading into the backseat of an awaiting car.
The Barbadian beauty is currently situated in NYC as she prepares for the upcoming release of her new album "Loud" - which will be released on November 16.
Discussing the making of the disc with a fan site, RiRi said, ?I made sure not to let you down with my music! You guys are always defending me, so now you?ve got some great songs to justify it. I didn?t want to go backward and remake [2007's] Good Girl Gone Bad. I wanted the next step in the evolution of Rihanna, and it?s perfect for us.?

Gwyneth Paltrow Sings Praises Of Chris Martin's 'Country' Track

While gossip blogs continue to speculate on the health of their marriage, it looks like Gwyneth Paltrow and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin have been off making music together. The Oscar winner's December release, "Country Strong" (previously titled "Love Don't Let Me Down") features a romantic track penned by her hubby. And, as Paltrow explains, it's about the complications of love.
" 'Me and Tennessee' is a special song that perfectly fits the movie," she told People.com about the song, which she sings with country star Tim McGraw, who plays her husband in the film. "Country Strong" tells the story of a singer looking to revive her career with the help of a new songwriter ("Tron: Legacy" star Garrett Hedlund). It also features "Gossip Girl" star Leighton Meester as an up-and-coming country artist.
While "Me and Tennessee" may initially come off as a tune about two people who should just leave one another, like any good country song there's a twist. "It's about a couple who are maybe irreparably damaged," Paltrow explained. "But then the chorus is, 'Then that old song comes on, together we're singing, forever we're singing, that old country song.' So it's about country music bringing people back together when they're having a difficult time in life."
Previously, Paltrow spoke to MTV News about the flick, noting that she had to hone her musical abilities for the role. "I had to learn how to play guitar, and I took singing lessons. It was a real challenge, but I felt like I pretty much pulled it off," she explained.
Describing the role as "incredible," Paltrow pointed out that it was especially challenging since she came close to baring all for the film. "It was brutal," she recalled. "It was a brutal shoot. I mean I wasn't naked, naked, but I was semi-naked, in various stages of undress. [My character] has a drug and alcohol problem, so she's struggling a lot. It was a lot of fun for me, as an artist."

The "Lollipop" hitmaker celebrated his 28th birthday behind bars on Monday (September 27), after which he posted a birthday blog message for his followers' reading pleasure.
Touching on topics ranging from day-to-day activities to his weight-lifting efforts, Lil' Wayne's message via his blog is as follows:
"What?z poppin!
I hope that you all are well and as always, thank you thank you thank you for the endless love and support. I think by the time you all read this I?ll be 28 years old? feeling ancient in this b**ch! On that note, I do encourage you young people to enjoy your youth. And for the old heads like me, enjoy your life. Everyday!
As for me, I?m good. Awaiting freedom patiently. People often ask does the days feel longer now that the time is getting shorter? I say that there?s 24 hours in everyday. But honestly, I can?t f**kin? wait! Sorry. Anyway, I?m still playing UNO. Still doing pushups and such, by the way, please don?t expect me to come out looking any different. I?m the same little ?ol me. Also, I?ve been trying to get as much rest as I can because I know I won?t when I?m out of here. Wait, Aaliyah?s ?Let Me Know? just came on the radio! ?At your best, you are love?? and I try to always be at my best, for you.
I only listen to slow jams and ESPN. Shoutout to Keith Stewart and Dr. Bob Lee on WBLS, and Lenny Green on KISSfm. That?s all I listen to, other than sports. Oh and if you haven?t heard the new song by Eric Benet, ?Sometimes I Cry?, please stop what you?re doing and check it out. Well, after you finish reading this. It?s the best song I?ve heard since Maxwell?s ?Woman?s Worth?. It?s for grown folk. I actually listen to the radio all day waiting for that song. Anyway, so back to my fans, you are the best in the world. When reading those letters, you never cease to amaze me with your love. I am forever grateful.
So my kids are perfect. I miss them like crazy! Regina, you are the angel of my life. Kam, you are amazing. Neal, you are my little wonderful meatball. And Lil Tunechi Jr., you are so me. City, I am so you! I love my family and I thank them for the support during this time. It?s almost over. To my YMCM family, you are the fxckin? best! Uhh Nik, I am jealous of you and Drizzy, but it?s cool! Ha ha. I miss you all and keep killin? ?em. I love y?all.
To everyone who?s come to visit me. I thank you for that, graciously. It means a lot. Well I?ll end this letter but never my love. Speaking of love? Mr. Chris Kyle, will you marry Ms. Ashalee Albarr??? Now that was cool. Well I hope y?all got my new album ?I Am Not A Human Being?. It?s great, like every one of you. Peace.

30 Seconds To Mars Call Kanye West Collabo An 'Unexpected Surprise'
'It's one of the strongest things that he's done,' Jared Leto tells MTV News of 'Hurricane.'

Last year, when 30 Seconds to Mars were still laboring on This Is War, more than a few eyebrows were raised when Kanye West posted a photo on his blog of him, Jared Leto and the Killers' Brandon Flowers in the studio, where the trio had apparently just finished recording a "dope-ass song."
Later, Leto explained to MTV News that the "dope-ass song" was called "Hurricane," and it featured West singing, minus the Auto-Tune he'd been dabbling with at the time (there was no mention of Flowers' involvement). It sounded like a promising collaboration, but, sadly, fans never actually got to hear it: When This Is War hit stores, "Hurricane" was on there, but West's work wasn't.
Leto explained that the band had to remove Kanye from the track at the last minute, due to some rather restrictive deadlines and a lot of back-and-forth between record labels, but he and his 30STM mates were so impressed with West's contributions that they pledged that someday, somehow, the song would see the light of day.
And, as it turns out, they kept their promise. On November 2, 30STM will release a deluxe edition of This Is War, featuring a DVD, a pair of live tracks recorded for the BBC (including a version of Lady Gaga's "Bad Romance") and, at long last, the full, Kanye West-ified version of "Hurricane." It's been a long time in the making, but, as Leto told MTV News on Friday (September 24), the song is worth the wait.
"Let's put it this way: It's a collision of two worlds, and I think it's a completely unexpected surprise. He's not only on the track, but he's phenomenal on the track. ... It's one of the strongest things that he's done, in my opinion," he said. "His singing is incredible on it, and he's done a lot of really wonderful work, and I think this only adds to his work as a whole. ... Working with him was an incredible experience."
Leto said the new/old version of "Hurricane" (he prefers to call it "an alternative experience") doesn't stray all that far from the version that ended up on This Is War — they're both decidedly bleak ruminations on death and lust and sacrifice — but it does feature West getting darker than he's ever gotten before.
"It was an interesting time. ... I remember, he started here at the house, where we made the record, and then we finished in Hawaii," Leto said. "It is a song that's on the darker side of things. It's the flipside of 'Kings and Queens' — which has a through line of optimism and hope, and a really strong spirit to it — this song explores a different territory, and his lyrics do the same."
Leto added that, if it were up to him and West, the song would've ended up on the original version of This Is War, but now that 30STM are gearing up to shoot a video for the track, it does present a rather interesting opportunity — perhaps a cameo by Kanye?
"I think that would be an interesting element to add for sure," Leto laughed. "We'll just have to see."
Are you happy the Kanye/30STM collabo is finally seeing the light of day? Let us know in the comments!

Guillermo del Toro Shares Details of 'Mountains of Madness' Horror Project (VIDEO)

On 'The Late Late Show' (weeknights, 12:37AM ET on CBS), del Toro said, "We're creating creatures and monsters unlike anything you've ever seen." The director added that even Dennis Muren (a special effects master at George Lucas' Industrial Light and Magic) told him, "'Do you realize nobody has ever seen monsters like this, ever?'" It was a high compliment for the self-described "fat geek."
"You're so hard on yourself!" countered Ferguson. "You do the wonderful movies, you win the Oscars, you do the books [like 'The Fall'] about proper vampires, and then you start giving yourself a hard time ... Will the monsters make it better, Guillermo?" Let's hope so. Though del Toro then admitted getting scared, on rare occasion, amid all this fright-fest material.
