Sir Elton John's message for Lindsay: "Your family members are enablers!"

Elton1019.jpg As Lindsay Lohan fights to stay sober in her latest rehab facility, music legend and recovered addict Sir Elton John has some sound advice for the troubled actress. "You've got to surrender. You have to ask for help and you have to be ready for it," the pop icon, who has proudly stated that he's been sober for nearly 20 years, told In Touch at "An Enduring Vision" 9th Annual Benefit for the Elton John AIDS Foundation in New York on October 18. Elton, who has said that he's currently helping pal Eminem lead a sober life, also has a harsh critique of Lindsay's family. "They're enablers," he says of the Lohan clan, which includes mother Dina, who has repeatedly downplayed her daughter's problems with drugs and alcohol over the years. Elton firmly believes the Mean Girls starlet needs some tough love. "Lindsay needs to go away to somewhere like Hazelden in Minnesota, which is a kind of boot camp," he adds. "To get well, you don't go to treatment centers that have televisions and swimming pools." After famously failing at least one court-ordered drug test last month, Lindsay is currently undergoing treatment at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, Calif.
